OneOC SMS Terms and Privacy Policy
Effective date: September 30, 2026
About OneOC Funding Alerts
OneOC sends text messages to leaders and designated contacts of its fiscally sponsored projects who voluntarily subscribe to funding opportunity alerts. Messages may include grant opportunities, foundation funding announcements, application deadlines, and fundraising resources supporting their charitable work.
These messages do not solicit donations from recipients. Sharing an opportunity does not guarantee eligibility or funding. Recipients should confirm application requirements and deadlines directly with the funder.
Your Consent and Choice
You may subscribe by giving explicit verbal permission to an authorized OneOC staff member during a telephone or in-person conversation. Staff will explain the messaging program, request your permission, and confirm the mobile number you want to use.
Subscribing is entirely optional. Consent is not a condition of purchase, fiscal sponsorship, or access to any other OneOC service. Choosing not to subscribe, or unsubscribing later, will not affect your project’s relationship with OneOC or access to services.
Being a OneOC project contact, providing a telephone number for another purpose, or subscribing to OneOC emails does not automatically enroll you in text alerts.
Verbal Consent Process
OneOC staff use the following script when inviting a contact to subscribe:
“Would you like to receive recurring automated text messages from OneOC about grants, funding opportunities, application deadlines, and fundraising resources? Subscribing is optional and is not a condition of purchase, fiscal sponsorship, or any other OneOC service. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. You can reply STOP to unsubscribe or HELP for assistance. Our SMS terms and privacy policy are available at www.oneoc.org/sms. Do you agree to receive these text messages, and at which mobile number?”
If the person agrees, staff respond:
“Thank you. We will record your permission to receive OneOC funding alerts at that number. You can withdraw your consent at any time by replying STOP.”
If the person declines, staff respond:
“No problem. We will not subscribe you to text alerts. Your OneOC services will not be affected.”
We do not enroll contacts who decline or do not give a clear affirmative response. If our messaging provider requires an additional confirmation step, we will complete enrollment only after receiving that confirmation.
Message Frequency and Charges
Message frequency varies based on available funding opportunities and relevant deadlines.
Message and data rates may apply under your mobile service plan. Contact your mobile carrier with questions about charges.
How to Unsubscribe
You may unsubscribe at any time by replying STOP to a OneOC text message. You may also reply END, CANCEL, UNSUBSCRIBE, or QUIT.
You may receive one final text confirming your unsubscribe request. After that, we will not send further messages through this SMS program unless you subscribe again.
You may also contact OneOC using the details below to request removal from the SMS program.
Unsubscribing from text alerts will not affect your fiscal sponsorship or other OneOC services.

We use this information to:
Send the funding alerts you requested.

How We Share Your Information
OneOC does not sell, rent, or share SMS subscribers’ mobile numbers or opt-in consent information with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes.
We may share information with service providers that help us administer and deliver the SMS program, solely as needed to perform those services on our behalf. Those providers are not authorized to use the information for their own marketing or promotional purposes.
We may also disclose information when required by law.
The broader information-sharing provisions in OneOC’s general Privacy Policy do not authorize sharing SMS mobile numbers or opt-in consent information for third-party marketing.

We retain information as needed to administer the SMS program, honor unsubscribe requests, and meet applicable legal and recordkeeping obligations. We may retain limited records after you unsubscribe to ensure your opt-out continues to be honored.
Relationship to Our General Privacy Policy
These SMS privacy provisions supplement the OneOC Privacy Policy. If the general policy conflicts with these SMS-specific protections, these SMS provisions govern how we handle mobile numbers and SMS opt-in consent information.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the program changes. The effective date above will reflect the latest revision. If a change requires renewed consent, we will obtain that consent before sending messages covered by the change.
